There are many technical applications, but that’s not why I’m excited about the potential of this tool. You’ve also developed a healthy skepticism for any “new” technology. tools for decades as we’ve helped develop them. If you’re an engineer or STEM professional, you’ve been hearing about A.I. The truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Is Chat-GPT a game changer or over-hyped? what do you get from the time you spend on LinkedIn? But there's generally something every day - whether it's some sort of graphic, a webinar opportunity, a personal story, an article or the busting of another L&D myth - that will inspire me to act - either in sharing it with others, bringing it into a team meeting to discuss, or sometimes what I read on LinkedIn even sends me to a lesson plan for an upcoming training session to adjust something. There's a LOT of stuff on LinkedIn, and honestly I scroll through much of it very quickly. Seeing what kinds of things are on other people's minds that I should probably also be thinking about. And my own knowledge base and practice is so so so much better for having connected with and engaged with all of them!ģ. Sharing thoughts (and hopefully getting some feedback and conversations). There are 3 specific reasons I spend time on LinkedIn, but selling my company's service isn't really one of them (although I'm always happy to talk with someone who needs help with their training projects!).ġ.

What I actually *do* and why I'm on social media are kind of different. I run a small instructional design company and anytime anyone needs some help putting together training - whether ILT or elearning - I hope they'll think of me! At least that's the thought that immediately came to mind. I was having coffee with someone recently and her first question took me aback. "I'm familiar with your social media posts, but what do you *do*?"
